Liz Pike is a self-taught artist. Raised on a Brush Prairie dairy farm as one of 13 children, Liz has an organic affection for the outdoors and of nature. “I am inspired by natural color,” says Liz.
In 1982, at the age of 22, Liz began to work in oil on canvas. Today she continues to be inspired by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and the lush gardens at her organic farm in Fern Prairie.
Liz founded the Camas First Friday Art Walk, believing that historic downtown Camas could become a haven for artists and art galleries. First Friday Art Walk lives on today in Camas. In 2005, Liz opened up the Pike Art Gallery in downtown Camas and operated the gallery for three years, creating a living room for art in downtown Camas. Liz paints several subjects using oil on canvas including natural landscapes, still life, and historic buildings. She shows her work in several outdoor art festivals and in local galleries. In 2018, she launched a new art instruction program at Shangri-La Farm.
