I want my art to return us back to what is basic and pure. A place within each of us, where quiet drowns out the chaos and noise of our daily life.

I find peace in both the process of creating my art and in what I choose to paint. It may be some luminous color I see out my window, sunlight on the beach by my house, or simply a feeling deep inside me.

When viewed closely, layers upon layers of transparent color tell a story, like the wrinkles on my face. Each layer adds an essential element but only when viewed collectively, do we see the whole picture.
