Artstra is thrilled to announce that Analyn Anderson has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 Christine Rice Emerging Artist Scholarship. As part of the Clark County Open Studio program, Analyn will receive a $1,000 award and mentorship to support the development of her artistic career and her participation in Open Studios this fall.
Analyn’s work explores the emotional and symbolic relationship between humans and animals. Working in colored pencil, acrylic, and mixed media, she moves between realism and abstraction to examine themes of connection, vulnerability, grief, and environmental awareness.
While her pet portrait commissions have provided a sustainable source of income, Analyn is eager to expand her personal body of work through the support of this scholarship and mentorship. Her future goals include developing an exhibition to raise funds for an animal rescue organization, and as a new homeowner, she is excited to invest in her first very own studio space.
You can visit Analyn’s studio downtown Vancouver this fall, Nov 7-8, during the Clark County Open Studios, or stop into Aurora Gallery, where you’ll find Analyn most days, along with her work. She has been assisting gallery owner Elizabeth Steinbaugh for the past three years and exhibiting her work for two years. At 24, Analyn’s career is clearly committed to the arts, and we are excited to support her.
Behind many emerging artists is someone who believed in them early on. Elizabeth recognized Analyn’s potential, providing opportunities to work, exhibit, and grow as an artist. Her dedication to nurturing local artists has helped strengthen Vancouver’s creative community for more than two decades.
Located on Main Street in the heart of downtown Vancouver, Aurora Gallery and Frame Shop is currently undergoing street renovations. Once complete, it will be an even more welcoming destination for art lovers. In the meantime, it’s well worth navigating the construction to stop in and experience this cornerstone of Vancouver’s arts community, where you’ll also find the largest selection of framing in Southwest Washington.
