Sarah Lynne Hunter
I am a multi-disciplinary artist with a degree in Apparel Design and Fine Art from Seattle Pacific University. My primary medium is oil painting, but I also work in acrylic, colored pencil, graphite, alcohol inks, metal and fiber arts, and as a muralist. My art has been exhibited in local and regional galleries and I have fulfilled commissions for public and private clients. My works explore themes of femininity and mental health through a figurative lens with elements of surrealism and expressionism, often including personal imagery. I am inspired by capturing what words alone cannot– things that beg to be expressed but cannot be easily parsed. I explore emotions and experiences with color, composition, and blurring the lines between reality and our inner worlds and imaginings. I believe that expression through art can be a meaningful form of therapy and that putting imagery to mental health struggles that many face offers a form of collective healing.
