I have worked with art through many mediums to express my life experiences and realizations. My focus on sculpture centers on working with nature, and the intersection of the natural world and human’s place in it. As a result, many pieces incorporate natural found objects and attempt to animate our connection with that world.
One effect of the isolation experience of this last year was that I found solace in taking long walks and discovering secretes of the natural world previously unnoticed. My recent work reflects these newfound observations.
I find the challenge of working with a three-dimensional art form involves the recognition that works can be viewed from multiple perspectives, requiring attention from various angles to connect with a wider audience to connect with the intention of the piece.
My sculptures are fired to a high temperature as they are often intended to survive outdoor environments.
