I retired in 2015 and picked up a hobby of tumbling and polishing rock. I turned my shop into a Lapidary shop with all the equipment to cut, grind, shape, and polish rocks. Most lapidarist cut slabs and either polish slabs or sell the slabs to jewelry artists. I have taken it a step further and create natural bugs, animals, birds, mushrooms, and insects. They are truly unique and I have yet to find any other artists that do this. It is a lot of fun to watch people’s expressions when they first see my art. That really tells a lot when they have to take pictures and send them to someone. The pieces you see are truly one of a kind.
