Project Description
Natasha Ramras
I have a traditional painting background and have been painting impressionistic landscape and figurative paintings. The grandeur of the Pacific Northwest landscape is unmatched. I like painting outside when and have participated in a number of juried plein air events. In oil, I paint with a limited color range in alla prima, when most of the work gets done in one sitting.
Lately, I have been moving away from representational art to contemporary and abstracted works. My art is an expression of all my experiences, emotions, and life stories. My materials of choice for contemporary work is acrylic. Acrylics lend themselves to the application of multiple thin and thick layers, letting the material shine through with gentle guiding. My goal is to express my thoughts and emotions and let the viewer interpret based on their own life experiences, stories, and imagination.
