Project Description
Lynn Nadal
I paint with acrylics, ink, collage, and colored pencil. Red dogs, black birds, flying fish, and animated furniture often show up in my work. I frequently cut wood pieces to add shapes and layers before starting to paint. I build shapes and surfaces with molding paste and paper mache.
Look closely at a surface and you see patterns and complex details emerge. My paintings invite you to look more closely inside simple shapes to see embedded details and patterns.
The houses, plants, and birds I see on neighborhood walks appear in my paintings. I use bright colors and especially love oranges and blues. When figures appear they are quiet and thoughtful. My paintings are lively, upbeat, and meditative.
