I am a Vancouver-based artist working primarily in metal sculptures. After retiring in the summer of 2021, I started my lifelong dream of creating art full-time. As a self-taught artist, my technical career experience as a precision welder informs my current practice of transforming classical art into three-dimensional modern pieces that interact with light and shadows. My whimsical metal art, bird sculptures, and arbors are displayed in many gardens and homes throughout the area. Other interests include constructing industrial furniture, digital photography, and jewelry making. For the past seven years, I have focused on my skills as a silversmith, integrating glass enamel, sterling silver, copper, and stones into various designs. Recently, I opened my own welding studio in a renovated historic barn alongside my daughter’s pottery studio creating opportunities for community classes and connections with other local artists.
