With a life-long love of drawing, I began painting while living in Wales, UK. My work explores multiple ongoing themes including habitat, a sense of place, natural elements and our connection to them, ancestral lines, family, sanctuary and finding a place where we feel at home. Working mainly with acrylics, each piece is built up of many layers. Color and texture have become integral features of my art language as I work to bring feelings and meaning to life on the canvas. Crafting echoes of the literal through unique abstractions, I enjoy creating room for the viewer to bring their own interpretations and personal responses to each piece. Also a musician, my work with art and music are closely related as they inspire and inform each other.
