If it’s fiber, I’m hooked! I was introduced to basket-making over twenty years ago which blended nicely with other fiber arts I have enjoyed throughout the years. These include: felted wool, embroidery, spinning, weaving, and knitting. They continue to influence my basketry and consistently find a way to be included.
I weave baskets using a variety of natural and found objects. Some of my favorites are sweet grass, red and yellow cedar, willow, driftwood, barks, and yard cuttings. I often add leathers and metals. These options provide interesting texture, and the colors are limitless.
Spending time in my studio is a gift of time. When I retired from education, I redefined myself as an artist. I teach classes to small groups or on an individual basis. Please visit my studio during Clark County Open Studios. You will receive a wholehearted welcome! Just maybe I can help you become hooked on fiber too!
