Every time I start working on a new piece of art experiment the preciousness of exotic wood and different materials to form my work, which becomes a new challenge for me motivates and inspires me to create pieces, I like to focus on the importance of visual art materials: learn about the types, textures, where the materials came from, the history of this art and the material, and the social implications of using these materials. This wood is from the 1800s, we don’t have that tree anymore, but here it is in a different form. We have this wood, it came from Venezuela. Why is it this color? Because it came from a jungle, tropical place. Understanding the history, origin materials and how the origin affects its look/texture.
I work in the mediums of photography, painting, marquetry (wood) and paper mache (3D).
